“Manodzi” wins “Best International Collaboration”, “Record of the Year” and “Best Songwriter” at the 25th TGMAs
On Saturday night (June 1), Stonebwoy added to his already impressive career win total at the 2024 Ghana Music Awards with three brand-new wins.
The Ghanaian international singer, songwriter, and performer won three new awards in the history of the scheme for his 2023 single “Manodzi,” which features five-time GRAMMY award-winning singer Angelique Kidjo. The song, which appeared on his “5Th Dimension” album, won the awards for “Best International Collaboration,” “Record of the Year,” and “Best Songwriter of the Year.”
These wins highlight Stonebwoy’s continued influence and excellence in the music industry. The collaboration with Angelique Kidjo, a celebrated artist in her own right, has been praised for its powerful lyrics and outstanding musical composition, solidifying “Manodzi” as a standout track in 2023.
Stonebwoy was the biggest winner of the night with a total of seven wins. Alongside his three brand-new wins, Stonebwoy was victorious in these four categories: ultimate Artiste of the Year, Reggae & Dancehall Artiste of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year for his record with KiDi on “Likor,” and Best Album of the Year for his 2023 “5Th Dimension” album.
Heading into Saturday’s show, Stonebwoy was the leading finalist, with nods in 16 categories.
