Stonebwoy up for two awards at 2021 AFRIMA

Ghana’s biggest music export, Stonebwoy has been nominated in two categories for the 8th annual All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) to be presented from November 19-21 in Lagos.

Now in recent times as 1 GAD, the multiple award-winning recording and performing artiste is a nominee in the “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Reggae Ragga & Dancehall” continental category for “Activate” featuring Davido. He also was nominated for the “Best Male Artiste in West Africa” regional category also for his work with singer Davido on his song, “Activate.”

The talented musician made the list of award nominees released on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, by the African Union Commission (AUC) and the International Committee of the All Africa Music Awards.

In 2019, Stonebwoy won an AFRIMA for his work in the “Best Artiste, Duo or Group in African Reggae Ragga & Dancehall” category for his work on “Tuff Seed”; becaming the first African artiste to win the coveted laurel for the 3rd consecutive time since 2017. He beat Patoranking, Daphne, Winky D, Praiz, Timaya, Rosa Ree, Navvy Kenzo, Rudeboy and compatriot Shatta Wale to emerge tops in the category.

AFRIMA in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC) will be broadcast live on 84 television stations in 109 countries from Lagos, Nigeria from November 19-21, 2021. Since 2014, AFRIMA is regarded as the ultimate recognition of African music globally.
