BET award-winning afropop singer Stonebwoy performed at a ceremony that recognized and honored business and political leaders across Africa on Friday, January 26th, 2024.
Organized by Africa Prosperity Network, in collaboration with the Office of the President of the Republic of Ghana and the AfCFTA Secertariate, the Presidential Gala Dinner and annual Africa Prosperity Champions Awards were established to recognize and celebrate the accomplishments of distinguished Africans across various sectors, aligned with the Africa Prosperity Agenda.
Introduced as the “biggest music export from Ghana,” the celebrated Ghanaian musician stunned audiences at the private industry event as he debuted his latest single, “Believe in Africa,” accompanied by his band and orchestra. The song is an anthem urging and encouraging Africans to embrace their heritage, celebrate their diversity, and work together towards a more improved and prosperous tomorrow.
Stonebwoy also delved into his catalog and performed some classics and purpose-driven songs, such as Angelique Kidjo-assisted “Manodji” (off his 5th Dimension album), 2014’s “Run Go,” “Everlasting,” and “Into the Future.”
The Presidential Gala Dinner and 2024 edition of Africa Prosperity Champions Awards were held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra, and were honored by the presence of Ghana’s president, H.E. International Afropop, Dancehall & Reggae artist Stonebwoy has been confirmed for the All Africa Festival (AAF) on February 2, 2024, at Etihad Park, Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
The gig, returning for its 3rd edition, is acclaimed as the UAE’s largest celebration of Africa’s rich and diverse cultures in all their vibrant expressions and representations. This fun-packed event will bring together residents and visitors alike for a 3-day-long entertainment and culturally immersive extravaganza.
Stonebwoy currently boasts millions of streams across all platforms. In a night that will undoubtedly go down in music history, 1GAD mesmerized a colossal crowd at the forty-thousand capacity sports complex during the star-studded 2023 edition of the BHIM Festival, which featured not only his stellar performance but also an array of top-notch guest artists from the Caribbean. Having had a phenomenal run in the global music scene in 2023 and heralding a new age of music influenced by the African Caribbean vibrant sights and sounds, Stonebwoy delivered a spellbinding performance that showcased his musical prowess and stage presence.
Accra Sports Stadium plunged into darkness, illuminated solely by the glow of phone lighters scattered throughout the audience, and anticipation building as the ground beneath the stage split open to reveal a rising platform. In a breath-taking moment, Stonebwoy ascended from below, captivating the audience with a grand entrance that set the tone for an extraordinary night. Once in the spotlight, Stonebwoy dazzled the crowd with an extravagant costume that seamlessly blended artistic expression with performance flair. Stonebwoy commenced the first of his three sets with an eclectic performance of “Manodzi,” which features multi-grammy award-winning international singer Angelique Kidjo. As his 2019 smash “Kpokeke” began his second set, many fans left their seats and began dancing in the aisles. Before his final set, which seamlessly transitioned into collaborations with a line-up of local guest artists, BHIM Concert 2023 marked the inaugural performances in the country of this year’s international guest artists, who shared the stage with the forty-thousand festivalgoers. The stage came alive with energy as Jamaican music sensations Jahmiel and 10Tik shared the spotlight, adding new dimensions to this year’s elevated concert experience.

The annual music and arts festival, now in its 7th instalment, is scheduled for Accra Sports Stadium, on Friday, December 22. London, November 18, 2023 – Ghanaian reggae and afropop star Stonebwoy joined Grammy-winning singer Angelique Kidjo on stage at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday night, as part of her 40th anniversary concert. The two artists performed their collaborative single Manodzi, a song that celebrates the resilience and diversity of African cultures, in front of a packed and enthusiastic audience.
Stonebwoy, who is one of the most popular musicians in Ghana and Africa, expressed his gratitude and admiration for Kidjo, who he described as a “legend” and a “mentor”. He also praised her for her contribution to the global recognition and appreciation of African music. “It’s an honour and a privilege to be here with you tonight. You are a living legend, a mentor, and a role model for me and many others. You have paved the way for us to showcase our talent and our culture to the world. The news was made public on Sunday (November 12) when videos from the exclusive signing was published online. This comes following Stonebwoy’s stellar run this year, marked by the release of the well-received album ‘’5th Dimension”, numerous sold-out tours across Europe, the UK, North America, and Canada, as well as recognitions from GRAMMYS and Billboard.

On Friday, November 10, the Recording Academy unveiled the nominees for the 66th Grammy Awards, with the Ghanaian singer earning a nod in the Best Reggae Album category for his role as a co-writer and featured artist. Stonebwoy’s nomination stems from his collaboration with dancehall icon Beenie Man on the track ‘’Zimm,” a standout single from the ‘’Simma” album.
